Bryce Flying to the US to Retrieve Satoshi PC – Updated!

In a post on X on 19th August, 2025, Bryce has confirmed he is flying back to his native USA in the first week of September to start the process of retrieving the PC that he claims original Bitcoin work took place on. When there, his plan is to salvage any data that could be residing on the computer, but ahead of that auction off the potential contents.

Bryce also says that there will be “surprises” also in store, referring to his token project $DAD. His post reads as follows:

Hey gang!

I’ve been making plans on plans on plans.

I’m heading back to the US the first week of September and will be spending two months doing nothing but working on this project, including organizing the auction for the PC… and some surprises. 😉

When challenged about the plans, Bryce explains that the winner of the auction would get any recoverable crypto found on the machine, and that proceeds will be used to buy back/burn the $DAD token, making it more scarce:

No. We are going to auction prior to having it checked and then the winner keeps any crypto on the machine that can be recovered. All proceeds go to a buyback/burn and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The auction is to pay for recovery.

Wondering why he even has to travel home to start the auction, the interaction continues with Bryce explaining that the trip serves multiple purposes:

Because other folks care and it would be nice to see my kid and my dog.

Not to mention all of the proceeds go for good causes.
